Consent Hosted Page
Overview
Consent hosted pages are critical components of the authentication flow that inform users about data collection, processing, and sharing practices. These pages ensure transparency and allow users to grant or deny permission for specific data usage, helping organizations maintain compliance with privacy regulations like GDPR, CCPA, and other data protection laws.
Purpose
- Transparency: Clearly communicate what data is being collected and how it will be used
- User Control: Empower users to make informed decisions about their data
- Legal Compliance: Meet regulatory requirements for explicit user consent
- Trust Building: Demonstrate commitment to privacy and data protection.
When Consent Pages Appear
Consent pages are displayed when user permission is required, including:
- Account creation: Terms of service, privacy policy, and initial data collection consent.
- Authentication: Third-party app access, new permissions, updated policies, or cross-organization data sharing.
- Profile changes: Additional data collection, feature opt-ins, marketing preferences, or partner data sharing.
