Social Providers

cidaas supports several types of login mechanisms. While it can register and manage users within it in a Classical model, it also supports login with external systems (Enterprise model), passwordless model (Passwordless Authentication) and login using social providers like Facebook, Google, Yahoo and several such providers. cidaas allows you to integrate a number of such social providers (that use OAuth2 protocol) with your website to enable seamless Registration and Login for your customers.

Social Login

Social login is a form of single sign-on using existing information from a social networking service such as Facebook, Twitter or Google, to sign into a third party website instead of creating a new login account specifically for that website. What are the benefits of providing Social Logins?

Adding Social Logins has the following advantages:

  1. Login and Registration process becomes simplified. Given that users will not have to create a new account on your Application while using social login, it could definitely lead to an increase in the number of user-registrations on your Portal.

  2. Email Verification and maintaining user accounts is handled by the Social Providers

  3. Additional information about users (Eg., Location, Events, Birthdays etc.) are available through Social Providers – This information could be leveraged to have personalized interactions with the customer.

  4. The customer profile information available on Social Networking sites are mostly up-to-date.

  5. Customer has fully control on their profile information.

How does Social Login Work?

Social Login is a simple process with the below steps:

  1. The user opens the application and selects the desired social network provider.

  2. A login request is sent to the social network provider.

  3. Once the social network provider confirms the user’s identity, theuser will gain access to the application. The user will be registered as a new user and then logged in to the application.

Social Providers with OAuth2 supported by cidaas:

OAuth2 supports 13+ social providers: Facebook, Twitter, Google, Yahoo, LinkedIn, GitHub, Amazon, Salesforce, WordPress, Yammer, Instagram, Microsoft Account, Office 365. Additionally, add any OAuth2 Authorization Server.
