About cidaas ID validator
The cidaas ID validator is a cloud-based identity verification solution for secure, efficient proof of identity.
It provides document authenticity checks, liveness detection, biometric face matching, and—where required—document data matching.
This documentation covers:
- concepts, purpose, and scope of the ID validator
- verification modes and how to choose them
- a technical integration guide for developers, architects, and compliance teams
The goal is integration that is straightforward, secure, and transparent — while staying aligned with regulatory requirements and a smooth end-user experience.
Key capabilities
AI document analysis
ID cards, passports, residence permits, driver licenses, and further national formats.
Liveness detection
Confirms that the face sample comes from a real, present person.
Biometric face matching
Compares the document portrait with the live-captured face sample.
Document data matching
Match customer-supplied data with extracted document fields (e.g. name, birth date).
Verification modes
Preset security profiles for identity, age checks, and onboarding — from light KYC to eIDAS.
Web & mobile ready
No SDK required unless you want one; the default WebApp works on any device.
Modes define which steps run and how deep checks go.
See Verification Modes for clusters, the mode matrix, and a decision guide — then create a configuration.

eIDAS Regulation
The Electronic Identification, Authentication and Trust Services (eIDAS) framework defines a common legal basis for electronic identification across the EU and EEA.
The cidaas ID validator is designed to align with eIDAS Regulation (EU) No. 910/2014 and its successor, Regulation (EU) 2024/1183.
By aligning with eIDAS, the ID validator supports:
- a predictable regulatory environment for digital identity
- cross-border interoperability within the EU and EEA
- a secure foundation for Qualified Electronic Signatures (QES) and related trust services
The IdentEidas mode is the eIDAS-oriented profile and includes:
- biometric fraud detection
- strict liveness checks
- document integrity validation
- QES support
IdentEidas results must not be stored for reuse. Each regulated verification is performed as a new process. Details: Verification Modes.
